HEADLINES & STORIES
After a devastating diagnosis, Jimmy decided that he needed to make a chance. That change led him to learn from his limitations and use that knowledge with him instead of against him. Jimmy talks about how he prepares for the unknown of tomorrow with the information he gains today.
A Parkinson’s diagnosis was not part of the plan for 27-year-old Jimmy Choi. Newly married, and a computer software developer. Life as he knew it came to a screeching halt following a routine physical when a nurse noticed some irregular movements from Choi.
Jimmy started doing marathons and then ultra-marathons while his daughter Karina trained at a ninja gym. Karina encouraged her dad to try out for American Ninja Warrior, and he became one of the most inspiring competitors in the show’s history. He also became friends with ANW host Akbar Gbajabiamila, and the two are both heavily involved with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
ET exclusively debuts the three-minute featurette previewing the dramatic new season, featuring a sneak peek at the ninjas, rule changes and returning hosts Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Kristine Leahy.
